Sixth Annual EOSC Winter Milshoot

An Eastern Ontario Shooting Club (EOSC) sanctioned event brought to you by SKScanuck, Leadslinger and Andy.

Saturday January 19, 2013 from 1:00-4:00. Note the start time - it's not 10:00 as with the other Milshoots!

Sighting in from 9:00-1:00, so don't show up at 12:55 and expect to sight-in.

Match goes Blizzard, Rain or Shine. Spectators welcome.

Anyone with a propane heater, please bring it along.

Cost: Free! No matter how many events you participate in. We have sufficient targets left over from last year to cover it. Please bring your own refreshments.

We welcome donations to our neighbours, the Bourget Food Bank.

Items in need are as follows:

•Children's cereal
•Children lunch items such as pudding or snack foods.
•Juice and juice boxes
•Any other canned goods are welcomed as well

No advance registration required. You do not need to be a member of EOSC.

Event Description (permitted firearms and courses of fire):

Permitted Rifles - Military Division

Only unmodified milsurps of WWII or earlier design with iron sights may be used - no "bubbas" or sniper guns. Must be as issued, full military wood & sights, no exceptions. Based on this definition, for example a 1950's Garand, Mosin M44, Irish contract No4 MkII and Spanish Mauser bolt gun are in, as is the SKS (if unmodified), but the FN-49, and a scoped, Mojo'd or peep-sighted Yugo 24/47 are out. If you are not sure if your gun qualifies, please ask. Sling use is permitted and encouraged. Shotguns in military use, such as the Winchester Model 97 "Trench Gun" are permitted (slug only).

Permitted Rifles - Open Division

Anything legal in Canada. Scopes and bipods are permitted. Shotguns are permitted (slug only).

Permitted Rifles - Rimfire Division

Any rimfire rifle. Scopes and bipods are permitted.

Course of Fire – Military and Open

There will be two stages of 10 rounds each, one at 100 yards, and one at 200 yards. Five minutes is allotted for the 10 rounds (including reloading) in each stage. Shooting will be from the bench in the enclosed section of the range - front support only allowed (and not provided).

Each shooter will fire a total of 20 shots with a maximum possible score of 200. Targets will be Shooting Federation of Canada 50 yard slow fire pistol targets.

Course of Fire – Rimfire

There will be two stages of 10 rounds each, both at 100 yards. Five minutes is allotted. Shooting will be from the bench in the enclosed section of the range - front support only allowed (and not provided).

Each shooter will fire a total of 20 shots with a maximum possible score of 200. Targets will be ISSF 10m Air Pistol Targets. These are very small - only 160 cm (7") square.

No spotting scopes or spotters calling out shots is permitted.

All action and handling of firearms will be strictly controlled by an EOSC-appointed Range Safety Officer. Please read and be prepared to follow EOSC Range Safety Rules. Safety is paramount. See www.eosc.ca for that information as well as directions to the club.

Competitors provide the firearm and ammo. There exists the potential for kind souls to lend a firearm if the participant provides the ammo (a minimum of 30 rounds is suggested).
